FRUS rite Deluxe

Português 🇧🇷 | English 🇺🇲

The Frusrite Deluxe is a limited and commemorative version of the Frusrite, a project inspired ny the germanium Mosrite Fuzzrite, which only 250 units were made between 1965 and 1966. The Frusrite circuit is faithful to the first version of the fuzz pedal developed by Ed Sanner. The Frusrite Deluxe has the same measurements as the original enclosure, and also a very special NOS japanese germanium transistors combination. We also added improvements to the circuit which brings convenience to the use on the modern days, without interfering the tone.

The Frusrite Deluxe has an internal polarity conversion to handle the germanium transistors (checked one by one), with the possibility to be powered with a 9V battery.

ATTENTION: It’s not necessary removing the battery when using a power supply. We recommend unplugging the input cable (INST.) wh n not playing, so the battery will not be lowered and will last long.

It has a True Bypass switch, ON/OFF red LED , 1% tolerance resistors, polyester capacitors to reduce hum and inaccuracies (the original had ceramic capacitors which are inaccurate and helps hum and static sounds), excellent jacks, and most importantly: a very clean build, 100% handmade with care and zeal, keeping the feel and look of a vintage pedal, which we admirers love and seek.

John Frusciante used the germanium Fuzzrite V1 on the Red Hot Chili Peppers, for the Stadium Arcadium tour between 2006 and 2007, and also on his solo album The Empyrean (2009).

Transistors:
- First version (#000 - #015): Hitachi 2SA12 and Matsushita 2SA102
- Second version (#016 - #025): Sanyo 2SD30 (2)

JOHN FRUSCIANTE’S FAVORITE SETTING

John Frusciante’s favorite setting was with the DEPTH on 0 and VOLUME on 10. Using it like this, the tone gets very controllable and dynamic. The DEPTH adds high frequencies to the effect, making it lose definition. So using it on 0 it gets balanced frequencies, perfectly cutting a mix. For the VOLUME we have to consider John Frusciante’s clean tone is crunchy and compressed, turning any volume control into a gain control.

HOW TO BUY?

The Frusrite Deluxe is a limited edition which only had sixteen units (#000 to #015) - only ten (#006 to #015) were made to be sold in October 2022.
